70th Gala is tomorrow at 7 pm, and is almost sold out! |

The 70th Gala is tomorrow,
December 5,
7:00-10:30 pm
at the UA Hall.

There are just FIVE(5) tickets left as of 1 pm on December 4! If you haven't bought your ticket and want to attend, click here to buy your ticket online. Note that you will need to sign in as a member before purchasing your ticket.

We
will be fundraising for Hope Clinic and Food Gatherers during our 70th Gala
& Holiday Party on December 5 as well as online HERE throughout the
month of December.
Hope Clinic, 518 Harriet Street, Ypsilanti, provides the public with medical,
dental, and behavioral health care as well as groceries, hot meals, laundry
access and a diaper pantry.
Food Gatherers – Community Kitchen – Soup Kitchen, exists to alleviate hunger
and provides meal service out of the Delonis Center.
Beginning December 1, you can donate to both Hope Clinic and Food Gatherers online. You may also
bring your personal checks/credit cards/big hearts to the 70th Gala and give
generously. Make any checks payable to either Hope Clinic or Food Gatherers. We
will furnish a receipt.

Ski Racing Informational and Lions Game |

Interested in ski racing? Come learn about Ann Arbor Ski Club’s race team opportunities at Boyne Mt. and Mt. Brighton. Lions Fan? Come join us even if you’re not interested in racing. Watch the Lions play the Buffalo Bills:

- MACC racing at Boyne Mountain is on 5 weekends this winter. Racers from ages 15 to 85 are separated by skiing abilities, age groups, and gender. Every weekend there are GS and Slalom courses, plus a Super G Race on some weekends. Racers under 21 must have a sponsor who is a member of the ski club and willing to attend the race weekends with the underage skier.
- The Mt. Brighton Adult Race League is on a NASTAR course. There are two race courses and you have 2 runs on each course. Racers must be 21 or over.

Where do we live? |

The board is constantly investigating ways to make our events more fun, convenient and affordable. Recently, we have been looking at where everyone lives to get a feel for the convenience of activity locations. We made a few maps, including a zip code “heat map” of our local members and a national map that plots everyone’s actual location. Jeff Crawford summoned his inner nerd and figured out that the “center of mass” of our (local) universe is roughly the Barton Hill Country Club. See on Google Maps. Thanks to Todd Newman for doing this research!

The Ann Arbor Ski Club has a mobile app. It runs on IOS and Android. Jeff Crawford has written a nice piece on how to download the app. Members have reported problems with the app. An upgrade will correct the issue. You have to delete it from your phone, then reload. |
