This is a country that has the oldest borders in Europe, with an exceptional range of different landscapes just a short distance away, lots of leisure activities and a unique cultural heritage, where tradition and modernity blend together in perfect harmony. Its superb cuisine, fine wines and hospitable people make this a tourist paradise of the highest quality.
Situated in the extreme south-west of Europe, just a few hours from any of the other European capitals, Portugal attracts visitors from all over the world.
Medieval castles, cobblestone villages, captivating cities and golden beaches: the Portugal experience can be many things. History, great food and idyllic scenery are just the beginning.

- May 21st - Depart Detroit for those on group Airfare
- May 22nd - Arrive in Porto, check into the hotel. Formal trip begins. Evening. World of Wine District, Group dinner
- May 23rd - Walking tour and group Lunch
- May 24th - River cruise and bus tour of the Douro region
- May 25th - Travel day and tour of the cities of Coimbra and Evora
- May 26th - Travel to the Algarve region in the south. Tour Silves Castle and Cathedral
- May 27th - Leisure day in Algarve
- May 28th - Train to Lisbon. Tuk Tuk sightseeing and Gastronomy tour
- May 29th - Lisbon city tour and Jeronimos Monastery
- May 30th - Tour of Pena palace and town of Sinatra
- May 31st - Checkout, formal trip ends. Return to Detroit for those on group airfare
Payments:
Payment for the $300 deposit payable via credit card, all additional payments will be made electronically via Credit Card or ACH. All electronic payments will incur a surcharge, with ACH offering the lowest cost. Final payment will include a charge for those surcharges and any adjustment due to exchange rate changes

Electronic Payment Fees:
3.00% + $0.20 per transaction for VISA, MasterCard, & Discover
3.50% + $0.20 per transaction for AMEX
For ACH/echeck processing you pay: 1% per ACH/echeck with a $10 cap meaning you never pay more than $10 for an ACH/echeck. And if an ACH/echeck fails/rejects then that is a $10 fee.
All payments, including deposit are non-refundable unless we can fill your spot with another member.
Valid Traveler Information Required
MEMBERS MUST VERIFY THAT THEIR DATA IS CORRECT IN THE AASC MEMBERSHIP DATABASE. Full name, including middle, and birthday must match Enhanced Driver's License (US) or Passport (International trips). Passort information must be up-to-date for this trip. Trip rosters will be populated using the AASC database and failure to verify your information may lead to problems at trip departure. If you are missing any information, please update it ASAP in your member profile and with the trip leader.
