Pedal the Musketawa Trail with Ann Arbor Ski Club!
Trip leaders Diane Wise and Ken Shannon invite you to join fellow bicyclers to ride this scenic, paved and predominately flat trail through pastoral fields, shady groves and farmlands in western Michigan. The 26-mile trail offers several trailheads to meet other riders, rest, continue or turn around and head back.
Meet on Thursday, June 1 at 1:00pm in the parking lot of the Baymont Inn (4677 S Harvey, Muskegon, MI 49444) with your bike in good working order, helmet, water, sunscreen, spare tire tube, cell phone and cash (for purchases on the trail). From there, the group will proceed a few minutes north to the Broadway Street Trailhead #1, then pedal east to the half-way point of the trail in Ravenna, where we will rest for a bit before heading back. This is a "roll-your-own" trip, so you choose when to turn around and ride back, or pedal on further toward the trail's end at Marne.
In this same vein, those who wish to stay the night in Muskegon will need to make your own hotel reservations at the Baymont Inn by calling 231-798-0220. Mention you're with Diane Wise's group. If you do stay, you can join the group for evening activities in Muskegon.
The following day's ride may include the Ravenna to Marne section of the Musketawa Trail, or other trails in the area, including Grand Haven State Park, Norton Shores or Muskegon State Park for beach time. Some will choose to stay Friday night, too, and enjoy more fun until they leave sometime on Saturday - your choice.
