Socializing on and off the slopes since 1954!
Whether you follow, on your bike, the steps of 19th century mules along the Ohio & Erie Canal towpath, or hike the park’s forested trails among waterfalls, outcropped bedrock, and creatures of the wild you’re bound to love Cuyahoga Valley National Park, (CUVA.)
Cuyahoga is one of just three National Parks in the Great Lakes Basin. The other two are Isle Royale and Indiana Dunes.
The tow path is crushed limestone, but quite suitable for road bikes and there are also scenic paved paths connecting CUVA to Cleveland Metroparks.
Hikers are offered many excellent destinations. First are the Cuyahoga Valley waterfalls. Three of the most scenic are within the park, starting with 65' high Brandywine Falls.
Cuyahoga Valley is home to approximately 100 waterfalls. Blue Hen and Buttermilk waterfalls are two more popular hike destinations.
And, the valley views and sights of massive moss-covered exposed bedrock along The Ledges trail are beautiful and fascinating.
But also! Great Blue Heron colonies breed in the park every Spring and the sight of these large birds performing mating rituals and nesting is unforgettable.
