VERY IMPORTANT! Skiers must have a valid passport Please ensure you are prepared for international travel.
UA will charge for baggage. They have a baggage calculator online. Indicate in the calculator that yours is an economy flight from Detroit to Vancouver. You'll be able to pay online in advance of travel, or at check-in. Generally, first bag is free, all others are checked for a fee, and boot bag plus skis count for one.
