Come to our General Meeting this Thursday, February 13 at 7:30 at the UA Hall. Trivia Host and Member Jim Kelly will lead a Trivia Night designed especially for our club.

A Quick Note from our President |
|
A number of us just got back from the Terrace Inn trip. As always, this trip was a lot of fun, and we all had a great time. Unlike last winter, Mother Nature blessed us with outstanding conditions. Winter will be over before you know it, so get out there and ski!
At our General Meeting this Thursday, Dan Flynn and Margaret Shooshanian will begin the signup process for a high adventure rafting trip at Cataract Canyon in Moab, UT. This will include 5 days of rafting and sleeping in tents. There is a VERY short fuse on this, so if you would like to go, it is advisable to head over to the meeting and get all the details. Signups will conclude at the end of the month. It will be the trip of a lifetime for you, if you choose to go. Additional details are on our website.
Out West skiing starts shortly with trips to Sun Valley, Banff and Vail. Lane Hotchkiss continues to put together great XC trips, and the next one is the Munising “Taste and Glide” starting on March 1. See details below. Todd Newman

The annual Munising Valley Spur cross country Taste & Glide is on Saturday, March 1. It is a lot of fun, and they have great snow this year. It features a small lodge with food, music, drink, and merriment for only $30. The whole event is a blast.

Some ski club members will be doing some downhill and cross skiing in the next few days.
Thursday we will be downhill skiing at Mt. Brighton at 10 am. Meet inside near the ticket counter.
Saturday and Sunday we will cross country ski at Huron Meadows Metro Park at 10 am. Lane Hotchkiss will lead the group Saturday and Lucy White will lead the group Sunday, both at 10 am. Meet at the cross country/golf center each day. Lane & Lucy

Elections for the board and president are scheduled for our annual meeting on April 17.
Todd Newman is planning to run for re-election to a second term as president. If you are interested in running for president, you must submit your name to the election committee (members below) no later than March 13 (35 days prior to the election).
Some board members are planning to run for another term, however at least one board member is stepping down and will not run for re-election.
If you have questions about running for the board, or would like to be included on the election slate, please contact the election committee:

The Ann Arbor Ski Club has a mobile app. It runs on IOS and Android. Jeff Crawford has written a nice piece on how to download the app. Members have reported problems with the app. An upgrade will correct the issue. You have to delete it from your phone, then reload. |
