Please Give a Gift to People in Need During This Holiday Season
Your AASC is conducting a fund raiser for those in need. We ask that you consider donating to the Washtenaw Salvation Army or the Washtenaw Food Gathers Bank. So far, we have raised $690 for the Food Gathers and $642 for the Salvation Army for a total of $1,332. We hope to raise $2,000 total this month.
You can use the links below to donate using your credit card. Or, you can send a check. If you send a check, please jot down AASC on the check.
Please help us support people in need at the beginning of winter, a very difficult time for those in need.

AASC Contributes to the Mt Brighton SOS Program to Provide Ski Bibs
SOS program at Mt. Brighton is a program sponsored by Vailresorts for underprivileged youth to learn to ski. Joe Knopp organized several businesses to donate so that bibs could be supplied to the children in the program. Ann Arbor Ski Club is one of the sponsors.
We need some way to identify our students when they are on the hill, so they don't easily get separated and put themselves in potentially dangerous terrain. These "bibs" would do the trick. Joe Knopp SOS Outreach is a youth-development nonprofit that uses mentoring and powerful outdoor experiences to engage over 80,000 youth across 9 states, 15 communities, and 24 mountain resorts in a core values-based, leadership development curriculum aimed at building skills for life and bridging opportunities. We provide underprivileged inner-city kids with an opportunity to learn down-hill skiing and snowboarding, one evening a week for five weeks, twice a season. We provide them with skis, boots, helmets, gloves, ski pants and coats.

The Ann Arbor Ski Club has a mobile app. It runs on IOS and Android. Jeff Crawford has written a nice piece on how to download the app. Members have reported problems with the app. An upgrade will correct the issue. You have to delete it from your phone, then reload.
