The Ann Arbor Ski Club '23-24 season began with the Corn
Roast on Sunday, August 27. It was fun to see new and old faces at the Ypsi
Freighthouse. I am excited about all the different trips, parties, and other
things the club has planned this year.
I personally want to
thank our Board of Directors for taking the time for the club. As all positions
are volunteer, it is great that the Board has given many hours to keep the club
going. A shout out to all our Returning Members as well. The club was founded
in 1954 and will be celebrating its 70th year next year! That would not be
possible if there weren't people in the club volunteering and helping out
behind the scenes. Also, a big welcome to our New Members. We are a group of
active minded individuals that want to welcome you to our many activities and
events. If you ever have a question about the club or want to help in any way,
please feel free to contact me through our club email at A2skiclub@gmail.com.
What does your $30
membership fee go toward?
- Club Insurance
- Website
- Storage Locker
- Food and Drinks at Meetings & Parties
- Bartender At Meetings & Parties
- Financial Backing for Trips (i.e., Trip Deposits. Ttrips are
self-funded, but club money holds the spaces until people pay)
- Financial Backing for Room Deposits and future events.
There are more but those are the major costs. So, we need
members to keep doing what we are doing, which is having fun, getting together,
going to cool places, and having awesome local events. That is why you are important So thank you for making the Ann Arbor Ski
Club rock!

We are excited to announce a new location for Euchre: The Fowling Warehouse in Ypsilanti is welcoming the Ann Arbor Ski Club this year! They offer over 40 different beers, wine, and mixed drinks at very reasonable prices. They do not serve food, HOWEVER they have an extensive list of restaurants that provide carry out services and deliver. There is no shortage of food options to choose from should you want a meal or a snack.
- We play a casual and friendly 5-round game with a different partner for each round.
- You must understand the game and know how to play
- $3 entry fee and winnings paid to top 3 scores
- Euchre pot on every table, each partner donates a quarter when euchred
- Must be present to win
- Please bring quarters for the euchre pots
The first Euchre night is this Friday, September 15 at 6:30 pm. Questions? Contact Dana Arning.

We are off to a great start of the 23-24 season with an
incredible Corn Roast party August 27! A big THANK YOU to everyone who
helped out both on the committee and the day of the event. There were
over 50 volunteers from the club that helped make it a success. A special
thank you to Ken Shannon "our Corn Czar" and the core corn
roast planners and implementers: Anne Gilbert, Lisa Salisbury,
Vicki Watson, Janet Starr and Jeff Overmire. The party ran smoothly
thanks to you and your hard work. People loved the Ypsi Freighthouse with its
nostalgic vibe and great location. The Halloween party will also be at
this great venue. Details on our club website.

The Ann Arbor Ski Club has a mobile app. It runs on IOS and Android. Jeff Crawford has written a nice piece on how to download the app. Members have reported problems with the app. An upgrade will correct the issue. You have to delete it from your phone, then reload.
