From Our President

Instructional Weekend: The Instructional keeps getting bigger, and BIGGER. This year we had 44 people and we all had a great time. Greg and Anne hosted two wonderful Après ski parties and we all had a great time at our Saturday night dinner buffet. We were blessed with several inches of Lake Michigan Powder on Saturday and those that skied Sunday took full advantage. Most people took a lesson and everyone who did had great things to say about it. I continue to be impressed by this resort and hope to go again next year.

Terrace Inn: Our Terrace Inn weekend is approaching, Feb 6-8. This is our largest trip, as measured by total participants. It is always a good time, with something for everyone. The trip is currently full, with the exception of the “Family Apartment” and one male who would take on a roommate. If you still have interest, please email or call Todd Newman. The Big Trips: Our European travelers have arrived, just in time to see the NFL playoffs. I am looking forward to the Mt. Bachelor and Telluride trips later this year. If you still have interest, you should contact the trip leaders in case someone drops out (and there is always someone). See note below about Telluride.

Elections: Are coming up on April 30. The president job is nominally open, as I transition to “Past President”. We currently have one person willing to take on this role. The deadline for nominations for president is 25 days before the election, or March 26.

Additionally, there are 4 board positions up for election this year; 2-3 current board members are planning to run for re-election. (Board member nominations are open until the election begins on the evening of April 30.) If you are interested in any of these positions, please contact any board member to discuss the process.

Opening for One Man on Telluride Trip

Due to an injury, there is an opening for one male (to share a room) on the Telluride trip. Interested? Contact Greg Robertson.

Skiing at Mt. Brighton on Tuesdays

AASC members will be skiing downhill Tuesdays, 10 am at Mt. Brighton. We will meet inside near the ticket counter. Feel free to join us Tuesdays.

We sometimes change the day of skiing the night before due to bad weather. If you want to be on the email notification list to ski at Mt. Brighton, email Lane Hotchkiss with your name, email address, and cell number.
