Trip Sign Ups at Aloha Party on May 19
|
|
The Aloha Party is fast approaching on Sunday, May 19, and it is when we will begin signups for next year’s trips. This year we will be heavily relying on electronic information. Your signup form will be quite limited and will not include all the information required to register for a trip. The required information will be coming from your membership data on the AASC website. It is imperative that your membership along with all your information be up to date before the party.
Anyone signing up for a trip must have a valid membership in the club.
Trip details, and sign up
details are being finalized and will be on the website soon.
Also, Trip deposits will be $200 per person, per trip. The AASC is moving to all electronic payments, and we will accept credit card and ACH payments (direct from your checking account) as payment. Instructions will be included with the signup details.

World Central Kitchen Fundraising
|
|
As a follow-up to our successful philanthropic efforts
this past Holiday (Food Gatherers and Salvation Army), the A2SC is fundraising
for World Central Kitchen at the Aloha/trip sign-up party (5/19 at Zal
Grotto). You may donate now at https://donate.wck.org/a2skiclub
or at Zal Grotto via credit card, check (World Central Kitchen, Inc) or cash
(which we will convey).
World Central Kitchen is often the first to the
frontlines providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community
crisis. In 2022, WCK served over 500 meals to folks in Gaylord after a
tornado ripped through town. Please consider supporting your ski club’s
efforts to fund WCK.

We're doin' it again. Join us for a fun day with Ann Arbor Ski Club friends, socializing on the Dexter bike paths, and the Huron River. Bring your Kayak and Bike to Hudson Mills Metropark's river access at 11:00am on Saturday, May 18th. Your event-leader, Dan Flynn, will direct you from there (see details below).
BRING: A bike in good working condition, your kayak (or canoe), a cable-type bike lock, sun screen, water, and money for après-paddle lunch.
DETAILS: Drive (with your bike & Kayak loaded on your vehicle) to Hudson Mills Metropark (8801 N Territorial Rd, Dexter, MI), arriving at 11:00am on Saturday, May 18th. Take the first left after the park entrance booth, then the next left to get to the river access point (GPS: 42.385549,-83.911775). Drop your Kayak there, and secure it with a bike cable lock.
Drive your vehicle (with your bike still loaded) to Dexter-Huron Metropark (6535 Huron River Dr, Dexter, MI), and park in the parking lot (GPS: 42.329704,-83.860841). Take your bike off your rack and pedal on the B2B Trail back to where you left your Kayak.
Unlock your Kayak, lock your bike, hop in your Kayak, and paddle down river to the Canoe Stop (GPS: 42.329979,-83.860812) near where your car is parked. Load your Kayak, drive back to fetch your bike, then meet everyone at Aubree's in Dexter for après-paddle bites & brews.
If you have any questions, please contact your event-leader, Dan Flynn (810-588-8765 / dkf2389@gmail.com, or Joe Knopp (810-923-1567 / joeknopp@gmail.com)
