Come see spring flowers in bloom at the Conservancy Farm, 8383 Vreeland Rd, Ypsilanti! For more information and to download a trail map, go to the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy website. Additional parking is available along Vreeland Road, or in the LeFurge Woods Nature Preserve lot (0.8 miles).

Join us for Monday bike rides starting April 6 throughout the summer as weather permits.

We will start at 2:00 PM at the parking lot of Forest Lawn Cemetery, at the corner of Grand and Broad. Typically we will ride north to the Hudson Mills Metropark (5 miles), ride a loop around the park (3 miles) and return to the parking lot for a total of 13 miles. Ride is flat and paved with some boardwalk.

Drinks and pizza at Aubree's after the ride on your own dime. We plan to ride every Monday, weather permitting. Feel free to email Darlene with questions.

Dogs on a leash are allowed.

Just Your Classic Hump Day Ride

After returning to our cars, and loading our bikes, we’ll gather on the roof-top deck at Zukey Lake Tavern for apres-pedal refreshments and socializing.

How Does it Work?

Meet at 2:00 PM on Wednesday afternoons all summer at the Zukey Lake Tavern parking lot (5011 Girard Drive, Pinckney, MI). We've been given permission to park our cars at the far end of the parking lot (just as you enter off Girard, and before the first speed bump), with the assumption that most of us will stay to enjoy refreshments after the ride.

We'll pedal east to Whitmore Lake Road, then turn back, pedaling west to the end of the paved trail before returning to the parking lot (a total of about 23 miles round trip on the paved, predominately flat trail).

After returning to our cars, and loading our bikes, we'll gather on the roof-top deck at Zukey Lake Tavern for apres-pedal refreshments and socializing. NOTE: There's no live music on the deck, this year, but plenty of smiles. . .

The Details

Starting Fall 2025 Euchre Night will be a Members Only event.
3rd Saturday of every month starting September 20, 2025.
Online Registration Required.
Monthly Sign Ups will begin two weeks before each event. A Red "REGISTER" or "JOIN WAITLIST" Button will appear at that time.
Limited to 18 participants with a waitlist.
To be held in Dana Arning's Home each month. Address will appear in Registration Confirmation Email.

We play a casual and friendly 5-round game with a different partner for each round.

$5 entry fee and winnings paid to top 3 scores.
You must understand the game and know how to play.
Euchre pot on every table, each partner donates a quarter when euchred.
Must be present to win.
Please bring quarters for the euchre pots.

Euchre season begins again in just 3.5 weeks! Due to a number of factors, attendance is now largely comprised of non-club members. This was never the intent of our Euchre event; it was always intended to be a fun evening of camaraderie and socializing around a friendly and casual game of cards where one could meet fellow members who also enjoy the game.

Starting Sept 20, Euchre Night will be a Members Only event held in my home, with a new buy-in price of $5.
I will provide some very light snacks, but please eat dinner before arriving and BYOB. Please plan to pay your $5 at the door and bring quarters for euchres.

Due to space, we are limited to 19 players (4 tables w/3 sitting out per game) with sign-ups on the website beginning 2 weeks before the event. There will also be a waitlist if it is full when you try to sign up.

Please be courteous to others by cancelling your sign-up ASAP if you cannot make it; by doing so, the next person on the waitlist will automatically be moved onto the player list.

The business portion of the Annual Meeting will begin at 7:15 and last about 30 minutes. After which the GM will be turned over, temporarily, to socializing, snacks, and fun.

At some point, when we achieve quorum, the party will pause for a final collection of the ballots.

The quorum and their guests will go back to partying while the Election Committee tallies ballots.

Finally there will be one last shift back to business to announce the results.

The evening is capped with more fun, drinks, snacks and socializing.

One excellent way to get to know the club and meet members, or to learn what's new in the club is to come to a General Meeting.

AT GENERAL MEETINGS (GMS) TWO THINGS OCCUR;

A little club business is conducted, and
A lot of fun happens.

The fun typically includes ice-breaking conversation over snacks and beverages followed by dancing to a DJ's tunes, with the business conducted in-between.

Some nights more business happens, but on a typical evening it's concluded in about 30 minutes leaving plenty of time for entertainment.

What kind of business? Filling up trips! Announcing trips, answering questions. Also, announcing and answering questions regarding upcoming events. And asking and answering questions!

Members: FREE!

Non Members: $10

NON-MEMBERS ARE WELCOME!

$10 cash guest fee required to help cover expenses.

You must be age 21 or over or accompanied by parent or guardian.

Fun for everyone. If you just want to relax in a pool, play games, go for a walk, go for a long hike, see the sites, ride a train, bike 5 miles or over 30 miles: This is the trip for you.

Lodging: We are staying at the Holiday Inn Express, Richfield, OH where there is a pool. An area for us to just relax, a recreation center to play games and a fitness center. Then beautiful sites to see.

Whether you bike the old tow path from the Ohio & Erie Canal or hike the park’s beautiful trails, you’re bound to love Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

The tow path is crushed limestone, but quite suitable for road bikes. There are also paved scenic paths connecting to the Cleveland Metroparks.

Hiking offers a variety of choices. You can hike to a number of waterfalls or enjoy the scenic rock formations along “the Ledges” trail. In the spring, the Heron also nest in the park and the sight is amazing.

The trip includes:

A welcome party with catered dinner on Friday night.

A game night on Saturday night.

The 2026 route: Pentwater, Montague, White Cloud, Evart, Houghton Lake, Hale, Oscoda

Cost includes: SAG (support and gear) service, overnight facility uses for tent camping with showers and bathrooms, transport of luggage between sites, road markings and GPS cues for routes, daily watermelon stops, bicycle education, and children's activities!

The ride is 30‑60 miles per day for six days. The tour is limited to 700 participants.

Pedal Across Lower Michigan begins near Lake Michigan and meanders east, passing scenic, cultural, and historic sites. Many attractions will lure you from your bicycle – and you will have plenty of time to enjoy them. The route, which changes each year, generally avoids major urban areas. Sometimes a small downtown may be included for special interest, or for finding lunch or a snack. We use paved routes geared to the novice and intermediate touring rider. The daily distances and terrain combine to make PALM well suited to family bicycling. Some people bring their own sag and campers. Others stay in hotels along the way. This is a fun way to experience, see Michigan and get some exercise.

Once registered with the cruise, you will be able to book and pay for ship sponsored excursions in each port.
Airfare options will become available in the fall of 2026 and will be offered to all participants
Trip Insurance (Highly Recommended) will be available when registering with SportsAmerica
Pre and Post hotel options are being reviewed. When registering at SportsAMerica, be sure to check the appropriate boxes to be kept in the loop. There will be no formal tours or group activities pre or post, but Barcelona is a wonderful town for self guided activities and experiencing the work of Gaudi. PAYMENTS

Trip Deposit will be made via credit card to the ski club website and will be subject to a surcharge. All future payments will be made to Sportsamerica and can be done via credit card (with surcharge) or via check. Important Note. The deposit will give you space on the trip. The first payment will guarantee you a specific room and room type. You may cancel the cruise up until May 2027, with a refund of the cruise money (minus a small fee). Additional options such as airfare and hotel will have their own payment schedules and cancellation clauses. See details on contract for more information..

MEMBERS MUST VERIFY THAT THEIR DATA IS CORRECT IN THE AASC MEMBERSHIP DATABASE. Full name, including middle, and birthday must match Enhanced Driver's License (US) or Passport (International trips). Trip rosters will be populated using the AASC database and failure to verify your information may lead to problems at trip departure. If you are missing any information, please update it ASAP in your member profile and with the trip leader.
