New Membership Year

We ended the year at 310 registered members.

Renewal emails invoicing current members and reminding us to remit our dues will release on May 1.  Later, reminders will ship out at 2 weeks and 60 days.  At 60 days your membership will lapse if by then your payment has not arrived.

The Membership Committee
will still be prepared to
take applications and
payments at
club meetings--
picnics and
the Corn Roast during
Summer, and
at General Meetings
after August.

In addition to the total number of members at year-end (310), there is more interesting information to be gleaned from our membership database.  For example;

  1. 310 is nine more members than at this time last year.
  2. But, that doesn't mean we have just nine new members.  This year the club attracted 66 new members!

Along about September we'll
be able to compare that number with
the number of lapsed memberships.  Then
we'll have a pretty good idea if we
netted a gain or loss in membership
over the last season.

During these past 5 years, since moving our membership database to Wild Apricot, we've averaged a net gain of 17 members per year.   During this time an average 64 new members exceeded our average of 46 lapsed memberships.

In the future perhaps
we'll have time to explore the
non-lapsing membership and how
many of us renew consistently
over many years.

About a hunnert fingers are gettin' crossed over at Membership Central wishin' on a good renewal season.

[Editors Note:  I say we give them a great season!]

Multiple Invoices Syndrome

If you have MIS;

like invoices keep coming after you know you're paid-up!

Then we have a problem Houston that needs correction.

It almost certainly means you have multiple contact entries in our database.  Perhaps you re-enrolled in order to change your email address.  This happens often.

If you see this, contact our membership chair, Nancy Marcotte, and she'll see that it gets fixed.

It's not necessary to create a
new account if
your email
changes.  You can change your
email by updating your
.  Having trouble
getting this done?  Contact us.

One last thing!  This year your membership card will be waiting for you on our server.  You'll be able to download and print it.

Or, download a smartphone version and save a tree.  More information on the new membership card will be published in next week's eBlast.

Are you the Alpha type?  Well, okay then!  Renew Right Now!!
(yepper, it really works)

Travel Tip
Tell us about TSA Precheck.

The Transportation Safety Administration has a trusted traveler program that can make air travel less stressful and more enjoyable.   On their website they say;

"With a 5 year, $85 membership, you can speed through security and don’t need to remove your: shoes, laptops, liquids, belts and light jackets."

Even if you only fly once a year it's probably worth it. Check it out.
